OA Troop RepresentativeSeveral years ago the National Advancement Committee approved a proposal of the Order of the Arrow for a new youth leadership position within the troop of OA Representative. The OA Troop Representative will be a youth liaison serving between the OA chapter and his unit. In his unit, he will serve as a communication and programmatic link to and from Arrowmen, adult leaders, and Scouts who are not presently members of the Order. He will do this in a fashion that strengthens the mission of the lodge, purpose of the Order, and the mission of the Boy Scouts of America. By setting a good example, he enhances the image of the Order as a service arm to his troop.

This position can be used by a Scout in a troop to meet the leadership position requirements for the Star, Life and Eagle ranks. National BSA Supply has the shoulder patch available for sale at the various Scout Shops.

Over the past several years, Shu-Shu-Gah Lodge has been working to identify an OA Representative for every unit in Brooklyn. The Lodge Executive Vice-Chief is responsible for administering the OA Troop Representative program in Shu-Shu-Gah Lodge.
