Report for Tuesday, August 1, 2000

Well, we all just returned from the Section NE-3A Gathering and had lots of pizza and soda on the Section. Mr. Maher noted that some of the other sections freeloaded our pizza. Some of us attended the Native American Dance Show. At this event, the finalists in American Indian Dancing Competitions showcased thier talents after a hard week of preliminaries and vie for the top prizes in the country. We would like to congratulate our Lodge Chief Steven M. for placing 6th in the country in the Old Style Dancing category. Kenny Hood says that if it wasn't for the fact that the drummers missed the beat he would have placed much higher.

about the 2001 Philmont Trail Crew and Northern Tier Voyage Progams

Mr. Maher is grateful to Mark and Ian for finding enough space for the Founder's Day Display. Colin and Phil have done a great job putting together what is assured to be a fantastic display. Also, many thanks to Vinny, Tom, and Anthony for their construction efforts and thanks to Joe Amatrucola for figuring out the sound system and saving the Bank of Marty another $500.

Today some members of the contingents attended the advanced session of WWW on the WWW. Joe noted that during this advanced session, the Shu-Shu-Gah website was used as a positive example of what a lodge website ought to be.

Other members of the contingent went to the Patch Creation training session and found it quite interesting.

Some members of the contingent found time to hang out at The Outdoor Adventure Place (TOAP) where they went on the Rock Climbing wall and learned about the Leave No Trace Program.

The rest of our contingent took advantage of the wonderful swimming facilities here at UT Knoxville and went for a refreshing dip no less than twice. This evening was the "Dive-In Movie" where music videos were shown while we all cooled off in the pool

The food here is less than inspiring. We have had hamburger patties at every single meal in different disguises, such as salisbury steak, chicken fried steak, and this morning most ominously as a "sausage patty." Tonight for dinner the little lady behind the counter gave Tom two chicken wings and that's it. As she laughed with the woman next to her, Tom walked off with a large bowl of salad to fill the corners.

Our wonderful Adviser Stu made an appearance at the Section Gathering and the entire contingent was shocked that we saw him outside of the arena.

Marty gearing up for Founder's Day

Some of our knuckleheads meet with John A., the Aquehongian Lodge #112 Lodge Chief....and not a Krystal Burger in sight

Although he is leaving early due to a death in his family, Andrew is the winner of the "I Caught The Patch Trading Fever Award". It is funny to realize that only 3 short days ago he did not even realize that patch trading was a hobby.

Tommorrow is Founder's Day and we are all very excited and need to get a good night's sleep, particularly Mr. Maher!

Today's Krystal Burger Count: 45 (275 total)
